Acapulco Fishing
Acapulco has been known for its fantastic sport fishing for decades! Acapulco fishing, though not as famous as many other Mexican resorts, is excellent. The same sport fish that are caught in Puerto Vallarta, Mazatlan, and Zihuatanejo can be also found in Acapulco depending on the season. Some big game fish found in Acapulco are marlin, tuna and dorado. However, sport fishing has slowly taken a back seat to Acapulco's status as "Party Town", but the fishing here can still be incredible. The waters off of Acapulco are teeming with good fishing possibilities such as marlin and sailfish. A fishing license costs $7 and can be obtained at the Secretaria de Pesca, but many companies will take care of it with timely reservations. Hotels and travel agents are fully equipped to book all fishing trips. The Boat Cooperative (Ph: 74/82-1099) across from the Zocalo manages to create order from all the offers made at the city dock. Arnold Brothers (Ph: 74/82-18-77) manages larger parties (up to five). Acapulco
fishing is know for it great Sailfish fishing who are noted for their
fighting ability and often spend as much of the battle in the air as
in the water and they are numerous throughout the year. The Pacific
sailfish is almost twice the size of its Atlantic counterpart, reaching
10 feet and 200 pounds !!. |
