Along the Costera Miguel Alemán are several of these 24-hour restaurants that specialize in light, healthful food -- yogurt shakes, fruit salads, and sandwiches made with whole-wheat bread. You can order soy burgers or dishes with chicken, about the only meat you'll find on the menu. The service is quick, and the food is a refreshing alternative to heavy meals. This alfresco restaurant in the exclusive Las Brisas area has fantastic sunset views of Acapulco. Its large menu includes items that range from Asian appetizers to Italian and seafood entrées. Try the delicious (and spicy) Thai shrimp, sautéed in sesame oil, ginger, Thai chile, and hoisin sauce; or the red snapper étouffée, cooked in chardonnay, tomato, herbs, basil, and oyster sauce. By day you can eat right on the beach and enjoy live music; by night this palapa-roof restaurant is transformed into a dim and romantic dining area lighted by candles and paper lanterns.
